ROME, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Emmanuel Milingo, a controversial Zambian archbishop who has scandalised the Catholic Church, also found himself in a spot of trouble with the Italian authorities on Tuesday.
Milingo, an unorthodox faith healer who faces excommunication for defecting to the Moonies and getting married last May, has also been slapped with a parking fine.
The archbishop went to see the pope at his summer residence southeast of Rome to try to make amends for his exploits, but when he turned up he parked his car in the wrong place.
Rather than driving it safely onto Vatican territory, he left it in a no-parking zone on Italian soil, where Italian laws apply.
A parking fine was prominently displayed on the windshield of 71-year-old Milingo's green Renault Twingo, Reuters Television pictures showed.
