Dear brothers and sisters,
We are a missionary family, having come to Russia from America in
1991. Of our 6 children, the last two were born here in Russia. Our children
have attended Russian schools and have become fluent in both English and
Russian. This year our 12-year old son, Alexander, expressed a strong desire
to participate in the General Orientation Program (GOP) for Western blessed
children in Korea. He is a strong and serious student, always at the top of
his class. Last year he was voted Student of the Year at his school.
Not knowing how we would financially support this, we applied for the GOP
on his behalf to see if he would be accepted. Last week we received notice
of his acceptance. Now we are faced with the task of finding the way to
raise money so that he may attend. As some of you may know, the tuition for
the program increased this year to more than $8,000 for the 10-month period
from September to June. This amount, which does not include airfare, is far
beyond our capacity to pay. As I have a fulltime mission, it is difficult
to find the time to raise this money myself; the same for my wife, who has
a full time mission raising 6 children.
We know that Unification Church members are not the richest in the world,
and that other financial demands are often made upon them, yet we wanted
to send out this request in the hope that there might be someone who would
be willing and able to offer our son a grant (either full or partial) to
support his period of study in Korea. If you feel moved to do so, I would
ask that you please contact us at
rbeebe@online.ru.
We would be eternally grateful for your support.
May God bless all Unification blessed families in this era of Cheon Il
Guk in our efforts to substantially bring God's kingdom on earth.
Sincerely,
Robert and Karen Beebe
