Dear Damien:

One of our Japanese missionaries contacted me to see if her daughter age 14 and son 18 could come for a visit of a few weeks this summer.

Unfortunately I will be staying in cramped temporary quarters while my house is renovated and cannot host them.

I did promise to find a blessed family who could have them visit. This is a wonderful opportunity for a family to share their daily life with our second generation from Japan especially if they have similar age children. My 3 eldest have all experience extended homestays with blessed families in other countries. Lena went to France, Freeson to Brazil and Mihan to Japan.

These experiences were life changing for each of them.I have long dreamed of starting a program for our second generation to spend some time living in other blessed families outside of their native countries. Besides the obvious benefits of learning a new language and culture there are more subtle growth opportunities. No matter where we live, what we eat for breakfast or how we say Good Morning we all share a common culture as blessed families. This realization helps our children understand more deeply who they are.

I hope you can post this and we can find a host family for these two kids. A family with one Japanese parent would be ideal and there would be an opportunity for the exchange to be reciprocal later on. Many of our blessed kids have a desire to learn about their "foreign" parents country but there are sometimes reasons the physical family of the parent is not the ideal placement for the grandchild, neice or nephew.

Anyone who would like more information can e mail me asap because I will be out of the country for several weeks. I will help to introduce the families to each other .

Thankyou for your site and keeping us informed!
